1. Scope of Work
All work carried out by Holmes & Homes Plastering (“the Contractor”) is based on the agreed quotation or written scope provided to the customer (“the Client”). Any additional work requested that falls outside the agreed scope will be charged separately.
2. Acceptance of Quotation
Acceptance of a quotation, booking confirmation, or payment of a deposit constitutes agreement to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Pricing & Validity
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Prices are based on the information provided at the time of quoting. Any changes to site conditions, access, or required materials may result in a revised price.
Payment Terms
4. Deposit
A deposit may be required to secure the booking and cover material costs. Deposits are non‑refundable once materials have been purchased or work has commenced.
5. Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Domestic work: Payment is due in full upon completion of the job.
Commercial work: Payment terms are strictly 14 days from the invoice date.
Staged payments may be required for larger projects.
6. Late Payments
Late payments may incur:
Interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.
Reasonable recovery costs, including administrative fees and third‑party collection charges.
The Contractor reserves the right to pause or withdraw services if payments are overdue.
7. Payment Methods
We accept bank transfer and other methods as stated on the invoice. The Client is responsible for ensuring payments are made to the correct account.
Responsibilities & Site Conditions
8. Access & Preparation
The Client must ensure:
Clear access to the work area.
Rooms are emptied or items moved away from walls/ceilings unless otherwise agreed.
Power, lighting, and water are available on site.
If the Contractor must move furniture or prepare areas, additional charges may apply.
9. Protection of Property
While every effort is made to protect floors, fixtures, and furnishings, the Client is responsible for removing valuables and fragile items. The Contractor is not liable for accidental damage to items left in the work area.
10. Structural & Pre‑Existing Issues
The Contractor is not responsible for:
Hidden defects (e.g., damp, loose plaster, structural movement).
Cracks caused by building movement after completion.
Failures caused by unsuitable surfaces or materials not installed by the Contractor.
Any unforeseen issues discovered during the job will be discussed with the Client and may require additional work at extra cost.
Workmanship & Materials
11. Quality of Finish
Plastering is finished to a smooth, paint‑ready standard. Minor surface variations are normal and acceptable within industry standards. The Contractor is not responsible for imperfections caused by:
Poor lighting conditions
Existing uneven walls
Client‑supplied materials
12. Drying Times
Plaster requires natural drying. The Client must not force‑dry surfaces using heaters or dehumidifiers unless advised. Damage caused by improper drying is not the Contractor’s responsibility.
13. Materials
All materials remain the property of the Contractor until full payment is received.
Changes, Delays & Cancellations
14. Client Cancellations
Cancellations within 48 hours of the start date may incur charges for lost labour time and any materials already purchased.
15. Contractor Delays
If delays occur due to weather, supply issues, or unforeseen circumstances, the Contractor will notify the Client and reschedule as soon as reasonably possible.
16. Additional Work
Any changes requested by the Client must be agreed in writing and may affect the completion date and final cost.
Liability & Legal Coverage
17. Insurance
Holmes & Homes Plastering holds full public liability insurance. Proof can be provided upon request.
18. Limitations of Liability
The Contractor is not liable for:
Consequential losses (e.g., delays to other trades).
Damage caused by third parties working after completion.
Issues arising from damp, leaks, or structural movement.
19. Complaints
Any concerns must be raised within 7 days of completion. The Contractor will assess and, where appropriate, rectify issues related to workmanship. No deductions may be made from the invoice without written agreement.
20. Ownership of Work
All work remains the property of the Contractor until full payment is received. Failure to pay may result in legal recovery action.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
